Protaras Cyprus
Information on Protarus, Cyprus
Protaras Beach
Protaras, a tourist resort, has lovely, sandy beaches – the best-known of which is Fig Tree Bay. Sometimes referred to as "the land of windmills" Protaras maintains the nostalgic quality of the past.
Taking its cue from Ayia Napa (only a few km away), Protaras has developed large hotels, apartments, villas, restaurants, pubs and all the facilities people believe a modern holiday resort ought to have. As its still quieter than Ayia Napa, it has a reputation of catering more for family and Cypriot tourism.
Cape Greco, Protarus
Cape Greco, not far from the centre of Protaras, is believed to be one of the most beautiful places on the island. Reputedly, it’s home to the Ayia Napa Sea Monster. Spotted infrequently, it is thought to be a direct descendant from pre-historic times.
Not only a popular holiday resort, it’s also a very sought-after residential area. Local property prices have risen considerably. To date, property in Paralimni and its surrounding area have provided a good return on capital.
